Work Experience

This provides opportunities for students to experience different types of employment and learn employable skills.

Present placements include: McDonalds, Holiday Inn, Buttercup Goat Sanctuary, Second Chance Rescue Centre, Tesco Superstore, Swallow Aquatics pet shop, Trottisclife Community Farm, Grange Park (Stansted provision) and Grange Park School Kitchen.

What we are looking for?

Businesses who would welcome our young adults into their workplace, develop a safe and supportive environment, equip them with the skills to perform a role, and have the capacity and time to give our pupils.

The challenges

Work experience for us is either Wednesday or Friday between 9:30-12:30, so you would need to have time/work to offer us in this time. Our students can struggle with new and changing environments, so an induction, and Health and Safety essentials need to be given.

The support we offer

Students will have a Learning Mentor present with each group at all times to support the students and your business to ensure their work experience is successful.

We also have an extensive outreach programme of training and talks that you are welcome to attend to learn more about how best to support our pupils.

If you are an employer looking to offer work experience to our young people, then please contact Lee.Cooper@grangepark.kent.sch.uk
