UNICEF Rights Respecting School

As you found out on World Children's Day in November, we are becoming a Rights Respecting School.

This means that as a school, we will make sure that you know your rights as a child, and will help to make sure that your rights are met.

Learning about children’s rights will involve you exploring how to make your school the best place for learning and to play and grow – a place where everyone respects each other and treats each other fairly

You will be finding out how you can make a difference to children’s lives by knowing your own rights and the rights of all children in the school, in the local community and across the world.

We have been awarded the Silver Award!

Silver is given to schools that make excellent progress towards embedding the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into its ethos and curriculum.  There are over 1200 schools across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales that have achieved Silver and over 500 schools that have been awarded Gold, the next step up and highest accolade granted by UNICEF UK.
