Shakespeare for Schools

Every year Grange Park School takes part in Shakespeare for Schools Festival which is the UK's largest youth drama festival that offers pupils the opportunity to perform on local professional stages.

Pupils from all year groups work together to put on a performance of a Shakespeare play. Rehearsals take place over a week and culminate with a performance at the Woodville Halls Theatre.

Plays performed over the last few years include Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Julius Caesar and Taming of the Shrew.

In 2023 Grange Park pupils performed Macbeth.

Full details about the Shakespeare for Schools programme can be found on their website.

Shakespeare for Schools is an incredible and inclusive opportunity for the pupils of Grange Park School to stage their talents. We have seen the significant impact this programme has had on our pupil's confidence, self-esteem, resilience and ambition.

This has linked with our broad and balanced curriculum with year 9 pupils studying the Shakespeare set text which they then perform.
