Interventions

All Grange Park pupils take part in a Morning Walk for 15 minutes at the beginning of the day for 4 days a week. The Morning Walk aims to support pupils' health and well-being, as well as being an opportunity to build social communication and interaction skills.

Key Stage 3 pupils have one timetabled intervention lesson a week. Interventions are aimed at supporting pupils progress in particular subject areas (literacy and numeracy), developing pupils skills in areas of need such as communication and interaction and providing opportunities to work on EHCP targets.

Pupils are set individual or group targets at the start of intervention. These are monitored by staff who lead or oversee the intervention for the duration of the sessions (usually over two terms). After this time, pupils may stay on the same intervention with a new target or focus, or may change to a different intervention.

Current interventions include Lego Therapy, Social Skills, Zones of Regulation, Yoga and Literacy (differentiated and targeted according to pupil abilities and needs).
