As part of the Therapy team, Grange Park employs a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Francis Harvey for one day a week to work with staff, pupils and parents on all aspects of the management of behaviour. Francis is a specialist in Autism Spectrum Conditions and his work with the school includes:
assessment of behaviours which are disruptive and challenging
devising and implementing with teaching staff, strategies which aim to teach pupils how to progress in the management and control of their own behaviour.
Progress for pupils is often slow and painstaking, but very rewarding when it is achieved.
Francis also works on the Autism Outreach Services programme for mainstream schools. This is an increasingly important aspect of the work undertaken by Grange Park in supporting children with Autism who are not in special schools. Further information on the Outreach Services can be found on the Outreach pages of the website.
