World Book Day 2022

Everyone at Grange Park had a novel experience at this years World Book Day.

The March celebration was a great opportunity for students and staff at both the Wrotham and Stansted sites to dress to impress in a fantastic array of fiction-themed outfits. From fairy tale heroes to Roald Dahl’s Oompa Loompas and a trio of Doctor Whos, the schools were filled to the brim with colourful characters. Everyone had the chance to vote for the best dressed student and staff member. Competition was very tight, but the overall winners were Ben from Year 9 for his spooktacular Ghostbuster costume and Miss McCardy for her sinister, very pink Dolores Umbridge outfit from Harry Potter. Throughout the day, students took part in a broad range of bookish activities. They made delicious Butter Beer, listened to a traditional Brother’s Grimm fairy tale while eating popcorn in the library, and went on frantic, fiction-themed treasure hunt around the site. The day was rounded off with every form group competing in an epic Zoom quiz, which Key Stage 5 won with a narrow, two point victory. Thanks to everyone who helped make World Book Day 2022 such a big success.
