Cygnet Training Programme

What is Cygnet?

The Cygnet Programme is a support course for parents and carers of children and young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition.

The Programme consists of 7 sessions which cover the following topics: overview of ASC, sensory needs, communication difficulties, behaviour and supporting siblings.

This Programme is free to parents/carers of pupils attending Grange Park School. We can offer places for 12 families on each course. Additional applicants will be put on a waiting list for the next training course.

Is Cygnet for me?

For parents or carers it can feel lonely or isolating after their child has been diagnosed with autism and you might feel you need some more expert advice. Children’s needs also change over time and information and advice received when a child is younger may need to be updated to be relevant for the child/ young person today.

Attending Cygnet gives parents and carers an opportunity to develop their understanding of autism and look at practical solutions to managing behaviour. It also gives you the chance to meet other people in a similar position and hear about their experiences in an informal but supportive atmosphere.
