ASDAN Personal and Social Development (PSD)

The qualification aims to support young people in:

  • developing and improving knowledge and understanding of personal and social issues

  • developing  a wide range of qualities, abilities and achievements

  • getting  involved with practical tasks

  • introducing them to new activities and challenges

This helps students to become confident individuals and responsible citizens who can make a positive contribution to society.

 

PSD qualifications have been approved and students can work towards Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3 and Levels 1 and 2.

 

To achieve the PSD qualification, students must gain credits by completing Unit challenges and providing evidence to demonstrate the development of knowledge at the appropriate level.

Students can achieve:

  • a Certificate in PSD (13 credits )

or

  • an Award in PSD (8 credits).

If the student has achieved fewer than 8 credits they will be awarded unit certificates for any units completed. 

 

The Entry Level 2 and Entry Level 3 modules unit titles are:

  • Healthy Living 

  • Making the Most of Leisure Time

  • Managing Money

  • Using Technology in the Home and Community

  • Personal Safety in the Home and Community

  • Working as a Group

  • Community Action Individual Rights and Responsibilities

  • Preparation for Work

  • Dealing with Problems in Daily Life

  • Environmental Awareness

  • Working Towards Goals

  • Food safety in the home and community
