Therapies at Grange Park School

At Grange Park we try to know and understand our pupils not just in terms of their academic abilities but in terms of their autism needs. With this knowledge and understanding, we can then guide our pupils towards a successful, independent adult life.

We employ a range of therapists and therapies who provide advice, guidance and training for our staff.

The school employs speech and language therapists and consultant occupational therapists to work with staff, pupils and families. We also have an art therapist who comes into school one day a week to see pupils on a referral basis. The therapists are supported by two assistants who work to maintain our autism-friendly environment and deliver interventions as directed by the therapists.

Teaching staff work closely with the therapy team to ensure that the pupils’ autism needs are met and that any barriers to learning are overcome. The speech and language therapy lead is part of the schools Extended Leadership Team and is part of the strategic development of the school.
