Computing

We want pupils at Grange Park to have the relevant skills, tailored to their needs, to enable them as end-users, employees and digital citizens to play an active role and feel at home in a digital world.

The Computing curriculum is designed to focus on the following areas to provide a balanced programme of study.

  • e-Safety to ensure we equip the pupils to be informed, digital citizens;

  • ICT skills, to enable them to solve real-world problems, that are essential for employability;

  • A secure understanding of computer science, such as programming, how computers and networks work so that pupils can get the most from the computer systems they use and solve problems when they go wrong.

Pupils study towards a range of qualifications. These include:

Entry Level 3:

  • BCS Digital Skills – Getting Started

  • BCS Online Computer and Online Basics

Functional Skills Level 1

  • BCS e-safety

  • BCS ECDL Essentials
